Home Schooling

There is no doubt in my mind that Home Schooling is the right way to go in the up bringing of the next generation of Muslims and I hold firm to this opinion. I've been Home Schooling my kids for the past two years. This wasn't a continuing process until I came to realization that the education of my children is my responsibility. This is the role which Allah (swt) has placed on us Muslim mothers from the beginning of the Ummah (Nation), and what a noble role it is. The up bringing of our children is Jihaad (Struggle) in it's self without  added influences. Gone are the days when it takes a village to raise a child. Now in our time it's more than a village that is raising our Muslim Kids, without us realizing it. We have the influence of the disbelievers, the television been the Third Parent (click here)  to the child making the disbelievers our children's heroes and not our beloved Prophet and His noble Companions and the society as a whole. The  Muslim mother is one who is alert and aware of everything that will or may have an influence on her child and she is quick to correct and advice her child with love and gentleness. She knows her responsibility, that if she mould her children in the right way which is pleasing to Allah and His Messenger, than verily she will have a path in History. Like our predecessors before us who play their path in the proper up bringing of their children whom when on to make a difference in World History (click here), they were indebted not to their Fathers but their MOTHERS. They taught the children not just subjects but they taught the mind, the physiological, the physical, the emotional, the religious aspect of the child. And they weren't sent to school (institutes), like what we have now. So why is it that we have abandoned their way: They were the best  generation of mankind and pleasing to Allah. So why as Muslims both men and women given up this noble role of educating our children. Verily if we do not educate them, someone else will. Lets start over again and go back to doing what's right towards our families especially the next generation of Muslims. We are all Shepherds of our flocks and very one will be question as to how they looked after their flock.

You don't need to be a qualify Teacher in order to teach your child. You have the best qualities available to one who wants to be a Teacher on your side LOVE, AFFECTION and your child's best INTEREST at HEART. This will continue the bond you had with your child from birth. Your child view this as quality time, that you love, care and you are interested in his/her well being. Even if you have more than one child this is also chance to  teach the child to love for his brother or sister what he loves for himself. This will be of benefit to you and the child as he/she grows. As they will be comfortable with  talking to you about whatever problems they may have and you will be first one they ask for advice. I'm not saying it's an easy endeavor but insha Allah (If Allah wills) with constant du'a (supplication)  and asking Allah for help you will be ok.

May Allah guide all of us to do what's right by our children and guide us in the upbringing of them and grant us offspring who are righteous and good doers and success. ameen.
